Why do the younger people in this country buy into the “as long as you aren’t doing anything wrong” theory???
It seems like the younger people in this country have absolutely NO problem giving our rights away.

I am amazed at the idiocy of some people!!!
Because core values has been shoved aside by liberal ideals. Young people these days have no core values with the exception of making sure they give/get BJ’s as early in life as possible.

Many younger people were not raised with the same values as older people. That goes for their sense of what is right and wrong, also.

It’s because they are totally complacent due to the availability of anything that satisfies their banal needs. Their apathy will only lead to forfeiture of their rights to the point of hopelessness. They will become slaves to the corporate machine which has become the governing body of this country. My generation is dwindling so I don’t really have any other feeling except that of complacency myself as I see the impotency of the younger generation. They are regressing back to primitive behaviors such as piercings and body studs and tattoos thinking that it is better than protesting the loss of their rights which were brought about by the deaths of thousands of our forefathers. I truly feel sorry for them but I don’t think they will ever muster up the courage to do anything about it. Well that’s how brainwashed they are.

Younger people do not remember J Edgar Hoover and his little band of dossier collectors. Just today the president decided he had the right when he felt it appropriate to open your mail. And it made page ten in the newspapers. We have been conditioned over the years to turn over our urine, library lists and credit and health records to darn near anyone who asks, with no set recourse if they get it wrong when our auto, insurance or interest rates go up. Identity theft wouldn’t be the problem it is today if everyone weren’t in on our social security number. Kids don’t realize you don’t have to be doing anything wrong, but it can be made to look that way thirty years later when you run for office, or look for government clearance for a job.
I don’t know if you can call willful ignorance brainwashing.

They trust the government too much. They fail to realize that the government is limited to the powers granted to it by the Constitution, and that the government cannot infringe upon the Bill of Rights. These are rights that are guaranteed to the people. Our forefathers did this to protect the people and to make sure the government never became over oppressive or totalitarian. When a government becomes to big and to powerful it will become a threat to the people. Nazi Germany did it and so did Stalin’s Soviet Union. I think they fail to realize this fact. I don’t want to accuse anybody of anything, but how many of them actually know the Bill of Rights? If you don’t know what your rights are you won’t know when they are taken away.
